Angry Birds had no reason to be angry on Christmas day. Last year Angry Birds wasdownloaded 6.5 million times on Christmas Day. And with all of the new devicesunder the tree this year, the number of Angry Birds downloads this past Christmas jumped to 8 million.
The total includes all Angry Birds games that are available, including the latest, Angry Birds Star Wars. Rovio didn’t share what the breakdown for each specific game was.
Rovio must know what it is doing. With 8 million downloads on Christmas Day and 17.4 million new iOS and Android activations on that day, you can figure out that 46% of newly received iOS and Android devices had the game loaded up on December 25th. That’s pretty amazing.
