Elecom has unveiled a new pocket sized keyboard they have designed for Android devices, which uses NFC communication, more commonly associated with payment gateways than keyboards, to make a link to Android smartphones and smaller tablets.
The Elecom TK-FNS040BK NFC pocket keyboard uses the NFC IP-1 protocol to connect and provides you with a split QWERTY style keyboard. To help you type a little faster when you are required to do those lengthier updates and documents. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.
One of the downsides to this NFC keyboard is that its internal battery can neither be removed, replaced or recharged once it goes flat, after around 8-18months use at 8 hours a day. Making the NFC keyboard a $200 disposable item. Ouch!
The Elecom TK-FNS040BK NFC pocket keyboard will be launching in Japan for around 18,690 yen around $240
