Samsung Galaxy S III Summer Olympic Games edition for sale in Taiwan

If you are a big fan of the Olympic games and have had your eye on the Samsung Galaxy S III, this is your lucky day. Samsung had previously announced that there would be a special edition of the Samsung GALAXY Note phablet produced for the Summer Olympics in London. Now we have learned that a special version of the Samsung Galaxy S III is available in Taiwan to celebrate the Summer Olympics in London.

This is not the version of the phone being made available to the athletes participating in the games. That version comes equipped with Visa’s payWave to allow the athletes to make a purchase in the Olympic Village and other locations in London by simply waving their phone and entering a pass code for purchases over 20 GBP. You don’t get that special treatment. When did you last go for the gold?

The version we are talking about here is the Samsung Galaxy S III Summer Olympic Games edition and it is now available for purchase in Taiwan. The insides are exactly what you find in the international model of the phone: A quad-core 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos processor with 1GB of RAM, and HSPA+ connectivity instead of LTE. You also get a little figurine of a Royal Guard soldier that plugs into the device’s 3.5mm earphone jack and just looks cool.

Plus some wallpaper.
