If you have been putting off your purchase of the 16 GB Nexus 7 tablet, you may be in for a bit of a wait now. It looks like Google and Asus have underestimated what the popularity of the 16GB version of the Nexus 7 tablet would be less than a month after launch.
And so Google has been forced to stop further units from being ordered through the Google Play store. Instead of an “Add to Cart” button, it now has a “Coming Soon” message and the option to be emailed when it is in stock again. I guess you should have pulled the trigger on this purchase while you were able to.
Those who managed to get their order in earlier this week will apparently still receive a Nexus 7 in the usual timeframe. Google switched to the coming soon status as soon as stock ran out instead of allowing orders for tablets that would take a while to make. It seems like Google thought that people would choose the 8GB model and use the cloud. Nope. Wrong call.
