Things
move fast in internet land. I should know. I work there. It hasn’t been
two weeks since Digg was bought out by Betaworks, and now comes word
that the crowd-sourced news aggregator is ready to relaunch Digg as soon as August 1.
It looked like Digg’s grave had been dug, but not yet. The 10-person engineering team promises a complete overhaul of the site. While Digg will not be a rebranded version of News.me, the two services will eventually be merged into one.
Remember when Digg was relevant? Do you think it could be again? I guess that depends on what the team does here. August 1st seems a bit
rushed. We may be in for a disappointment here. All we know is that the
new team promised it would eventually receive personalization features
similar to what News.me already offers. Other than that, we don’t have any specifics.
